Janet & Peter are of on a cruise to India. They went last year on a similar cruise but no one told them they needed a visa to actually land. This time no mistakes, visa's in hand and of to a place Janet has wanted to visit for many years. So we wish them bon voyage and hope they have the holiday of a lifetime. The Thursday night dance in Donaghadee Community Centre will continue as usual in thier absence in the capable hands of Robert & Margaret.
Ballroom & Irish Waltzing Competition
Tuesday, 15 March 2011 by Jim Swann
Competitors came from all over Ireland to this competition held in the Island Centre, Lisburn. It was a sell-out, no seats to be had to see this spectical of competitive dancing. The floor was opened to the spectators for some social dancing in between the various competitions, there were even a few oportunities for the masses to compete for the best Mayfair Quickstep, Jive and Irish Waltz, with medals for winnwes and runners-up. A really good day out and nice to see how it should be done! Next time the competitors come North will be Sunday 1st May in the INF Hall, Hilltown. Housty will be providing the music. So put it in your diary - a show not to be missed.
A New Dawn
Sunday, 6 March 2011 by Stephen Swann
We are now officially "down with the kids" (apparently). A website, email address, Twitter account and a Blog are signs that the sequence dancing community in Northern Ireland has finally realised that it is the 21st century!
We're still coming to terms with what Twitter is, to be honest but we are assured that it is a good thing!
And the reason for this techological revolution? Well, we want to give our dancing friends as much information as possible when they want it. That may be troublesome for us as we may need some "prodding" in order to stay current. But that will mostly depend on you, the visitor! Keep visiting, keep prodding and we will keep publishing.
And if there is anything you would like us to add to our site, just let us know.
